Oh we do like to be beside the seaside.

Hello everyone,
Greetings from a happy but tired class 14. We can't wait for the Whitsun holidays especially as the weather is looking good.
We have beeen very busy creating our pirate ship. We are on the look out for pirate costumes, empty pop bottles to make bottles of rum(not real) and pictures of pirates. Please send in any of these if you have them.
Similarily we will be setting up a seaside cafe and a garden centre after the holidays. If you can donate any garden implements, seeds or plants we will be very grateful.
Year 2 (sorry)will have homework for the holidays. Can the other children collect postcards and holiday snaps please.
We are also looking for saeside souveniours to place on our display. Anything that you send in will be carefully looked after and returned after the holidays.
Please keep sending in a sunhat and if you can put sun cream on them before they come to school. They spend a lot of time outside and need to be protected.
We are looking forward to our school trips. The Nursery, Reception and year1 children will be all be joining the Infant Department.
After the holidays the boys will be focusing not on their work I expect but on the World Cup. We will be keeping scores and updates in class.
The boys want to send Cardiff Blues their congratulations for winning the tournament and we were all very sad when Cardiff City lost.
Keep checking the Blog for more updates.
Well done Lewis for winning Seren yr Wythnos last week. You worked really hard on your Maths test.

Welcome to the Summer,

Well, what a fun time we've had in school. We really enjoyed African week. Come and see all our lovely Art work displayed on the Wall. Your child had the opportunity to dress up as jungle animals and also to go on safari (in class)!
The African drumming was a great hit(photos also on wall and sent home at end of Term). Year 2 produced some wonderful African cave drawings instructed by our guest artist. We all enjoyed tasting exotic fruits and Mrs Decaro's class joined us to watch Lion King and sing some of the popular songs from the film.Great fun!
All the children are working hard in class especially year 2 who are getting ready to move to their new junior classes in September. They are starting visits to their new school this week.
Well done Lewis for achieving Seren yr Wythnos on Monday. This was in recognition of your effort to research on the internet about lions for Show and Tell.
Show and Tell tomorrow is anything to do with pirates. We will be reading Peter Pan and the pirates soon and are enjoying our African based story "The enormous crocodile " at present.
More news to ne posted soon but bye for now.

We can't believe how much the willow trees have grown outside our classrooms. We will be going through the tunnells this week and taking lots of photos to charter the growth. The children had so much fun on the yard on Tuesday with the playground paintings. We can't wait to have our building painted . Any ideas parents on what can be painted on the walls?
On the Friday before Half Term William was awarded Seren yr Wythnos. This was given to him because he had made lots of effort to join in all class activities. Well done William. Thankyou everyone for singing and listening well in the Easter Assembly also. We have a lovely photo of William with the Easter bunny in the Nursery. Lewis also had a fab time in the Easter Infant P.T.A. party. He loves magic and magicians.
We have an exciting Half Term ahead of us. Lewis, Spencer, Cai and Kyle will be visiting their new schools . Watch out Year 2 there will be rgular homework this term also.
Our topics for this term will be travel, the seaside and gardens. If you have any photos, artefacts or books on these themes please send into school. They will be carefully looked after and returned at the end of Term. Watch out parents for our Captain Hook pirate ship. Show and tell to start next week. The first will be on Africa. We can't wait to make our African masks and we are reading the story of The Lion King.
